Kendo Studio

Kendo Studio

It’s time to move forward. It’s been two months since I started Kendo, a design studio based in Madrid.

At Kendo we design simple and delightful products for startups and big companies.

We’re helping projects in the whole design process, that means understanding the business, set goals, product definition, visual design and help on final implementation.

I’m specially happy, confident and full of energy again and that’s just great. I can’t wait to show you guys the two first projects we are working on right now. It’s always a pleasure to be again back in the trenches :).

By the way you can stay tunned via Kendo twitter account.

Seeking a Junior Designer at Fever

It’s been 3 months since I left Tuenti and started working at Fever.

At Fever, we’re trying to rethink and improve the way people discover plans in their smartphones and we’re currently looking for a Junior Designer to be part of our team.

You’ll find yourself designing cover plans for the mobile app, newsletters, presentations about the product and more. You’ll also be working with other teammates sharing knowledge and learning from each other.

If you’re interested in being part of this talented and amazing team, there you go some key points of what we’re looking for:

  • Nice people.
  • Passionate about design.
  • Passionate about our product.
  • Passionate about startups.
  • Eager to learn and grow.
  • Teamwork.
  • Portfolio > degrees.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS (Mailchimp newsletters).
  • Based in Madrid.

If you think this position fits to you, just drop me a line talking a bit about yourself, motivations and portfolio,

Thank you!

Designer, don’t blame the client… because it’s your fault.

As a part of the designer’s guild, I’ve been suffering the same problems than you everyday working with different kind of clients. I want to share with you some thoughts that may help you in your daily job and projects.

I’m tired of hearing you (and my self) blaming the client. Let’s go a bit more further than a simple “fuck off, they want the logo bigger, they can’t teach me how to design”.

I’ll be referring to “you”, but as I told you, I’m part of the guild. Also note that I’m talking about all kind of clients: internal and external ones.

Joining Tuenti as Senior UI Designer

Hi there folks!

I’m writing a quick update to announce that I’ve joined Tuenti, one of the biggest sites in Spain (I hope also international soon!) as Senior UI Designer.

In fact I’m close to complete my first month here, and it’s really awesome working with really talented and great people.

I just hope I can learn as much as I can from this talented team in personal and professional way and contribute to new products we are cooking for all of you.

New life. Goodbye Santiago, hello Madrid!

As I told you on twitter I’m moving from Santiago de Compostela to Madrid in a few days. Why? I’ll be joining Ideup as senior designer very soon.

It wasn’t an easy decision for me, since I was working very hard last 3 years on my own startup Cokidoo and of course in our biggest and ambitious project: Erasmusu. Am I leaving the company? No, but I will be spending less time on it, of course.

Why? Well, I’m not sure how to explain it but since I’m not motivated as when I started it’s time to a change, to move on forward and search for new opportunities, Madrid can give me that.

I will be joining to a big team (+45 employees), it’s the first time I work with that kind of  teams because I spent most of my work time on my own projects with little (3 people) teams.

I was thinking about redesigning yensdesign or make an english version of Ontuts but finally I decided to start a new blog, more based on my new role in Indeup, about ux and design so I will be releasing some freebies, usability patterns and much more over here in the next months…

Wish me luck please!
